The holiday spirit is coming to life in Los Angeles with “Making Spirits Bright,” an intimate pre-Christmas gathering headlined by Filipina TV host and actress Donita Rose and her husband, singer Felson Palad.

The event, spearheaded by the Sono Qui Foundation, is set to take place on Dec. 12 at LA Rose Cafe. With a focus on celebrating the season of giving, the fundraiser aims to support Read to Achieve, a program dedicated to improving children’s literacy.

In an Instagram post, Donita shared her excitement about the event. “Celebrate the spirit of giving with [Felson Palad] and I at an intimate Pre-Christmas gathering to support Read to Achieve, spearheaded by the [Sono Qui Foundation]. Enjoy delicious food, delightful cocktails, and enchanting Christmas carols as we welcome the holiday season together!” she wrote.

“We believe in being there for everyone. All it takes is a warm heart and a friendly smile to make a big difference,” the organization posted.

Its partnership with Read to Achieve underscores their shared mission to make a meaningful impact. Attendees can expect a festive evening filled with Filipino Christmas dishes, drinks and classic holiday tunes.

Adding to the couple’s recent celebrations, Palad has been nominated for the 37th ALIW Awards “Best Filipino Artist Based Abroad” in the male category. Donita proudly announced the milestone on Instagram, calling it “one of the best highlights of my year.”

She also expressed gratitude for the recognition her husband received, sharing that her sister-in-law was the first to break the joyful news.

“This is such a big honor to be nominated especially because Felson only began his singing career here in the US,” she added. “Please keep this in your prayers for us. It would be an even bigger milestone for us if he wins.”
