India headcoach Gautam Gambhir has confirmed pacer Akash Deep has been ruled out of the New Year’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test, starting on Friday, December 3, in Sydneylodi 646, due to a stiff back. (Full BGT Coverage | More Cricket News)
The 28-year-old pacer had picked five wickets in the third and fourth Tests in Brisbane and Melbourne, and was short on luck with a few catches dropped off his bowling.
"Akash Deep is out with a back issue," Gautam Gambhir was quoted as saying by the PTI.
